Designing and delivering residential extensions in London.

Deans Architects is a London based practice working across residential projects, including extensions, refurbishments, and the reconfiguration of existing homes.

We focus on clear, well considered design, delivered through a structured and coordinated process from the outset.

We don’t step away after planning approval.
We stay involved through construction to ensure the project is delivered properly.

Studio

Our RIBA Chartered studio works primarily on residential projects in London, alongside selected international and heritage projects, including work in Jamaica.

We focus on making spaces that feel well resolved and easy to live in, while keeping a close eye on how they will actually be built. Decisions around layout, light, and materials are considered alongside cost and construction, not after the fact.

We remain involved from early design through to site, ensuring that the thinking behind the project is carried through properly and delivered as intended.

Approach

Our work focuses on making the most of existing homes, often within tight constraints.

Each project is shaped by its context, budget, and how the space will actually be used day to day.

We keep things simple and structured:

1. Initial call
We discuss your project, your priorities, and what you’re trying to achieve, outlining likely timelines, constraints, and next steps.

2. Design + planning
We develop proposals that respond to your home, your brief, and planning requirements, then prepare and submit the application once aligned.

3. Technical design
We produce detailed drawings for pricing and construction, coordinating with structural engineers and other consultants.

4. Build support
We remain involved during construction to ensure the project is delivered as intended and to help resolve issues on site.

We typically work on a fixed-fee basis for residential projects.

Team

We work as a small, focused team, allowing us to stay closely involved in each project from early design through to construction.

Alongside our work in London, we also collaborate across international and heritage led projects, including ongoing work in Jamaica, bringing the same level of coordination and design attention across different contexts.

Tyrone Deans ARB RIBA

Tyrone is a Chartered Architect and Director of Deans Architects. His focus is on making sure projects are not only well designed, but properly thought through and delivered on site. He has worked across a range of residential and mixed use projects in the UK, alongside international and heritage led work, and brings that experience into how the practice operates day to day. At Deans Architects, he stays closely involved from early design through to construction, helping to guide decisions around layout, structure, and buildability, and making sure the original intent of the project is carried through properly.

Olivia Ghioldi

Olivia works closely with Tyrone on the day to day delivery of projects, helping to coordinate design development, client communication, and overall progression. She has a strong ability to break down complex ideas into clear drawings and diagrams, which helps both clients and consultants understand how proposals are developing. This has been particularly valuable on more involved and sensitive work, including the Spanish Town Barracks project in Jamaica, where clarity and structure have been key. Her role is largely about keeping projects aligned, well organised, and moving forward at a steady pace.

Clarisse Campos‍ ‍

Clarisse supports the team with visualisation and design work, helping to translate ideas into clear and engaging images. She brings a strong eye for composition and detail, and works across a range of projects to produce visuals that support both the design process and client understanding. Her input helps communicate proposals more clearly at key stages, making it easier to review ideas, test options, and move decisions forward.

Muhammad Qadir

Muhammad supports the production and technical side of projects, focusing on drawing work across planning and detailed design stages. He works closely with the team to prepare existing and proposed drawings, develop plans from design direction, and coordinate information so that proposals remain clear, accurate, and buildable. His role is focused on keeping the technical output consistent and reliable, helping projects move from early design through to construction with a clear and coordinated set of drawings.
